Yesterday, around midnight, there was screaming and screeching and hissing coming from the ruin behind our house. A while later there was also a loud bang, more metallic than usually.
I sometimes wonder if our cat-owning neighbours ever hear any of this. I can hardly imagine they would allow their well bred designer kittens to run free, if they did. And while I avoid wishing any creature any harm these days, a kind of morbid curiosity remains - would they (the neighbours) know, if their cat's spine got crushed by some falling rubble? Or would they (the cat) just turn into another missing-pet-poster for the door-frames and lamp-posts in the neighbourhood?
